Innovative Approaches Tiny Homes
about project
Project Dublin involved the construction of a 1.5 storey modern home with a total floor area of 166m². The build was carried out using 174mm SIP wall panels and 274mm SIP roof panels, ensuring excellent thermal performance and airtightness. Structural glued beams were used to support the roof ridge, with every joint sealed using high-quality airtightness tape. The house sits on a trench foundation with concrete panel subfloor and ICF block foundation ring. Externally, the roof is finished with corrugated metal sheeting, and the façade includes an additional 70mm EPS grey insulation layer completed with a Caparol acrylic render system. The SIP assembly was completed in just 4 weeks.
Client’s Challenge
The client needed a durable, energy-efficient family home that would meet modern insulation standards while staying on schedule. Ground conditions required a robust foundation system, and the client also wanted a clean, rendered finish without compromising the building’s thermal efficiency.
Our approach and solution
Our team designed and assembled the SIP structure with precision, integrating airtightness measures from the start. The use of ICF blocks for the foundation ring combined with SIP panels created a high-performance envelope. The 70mm EPS insulation and Caparol render provided both thermal improvement and a sleek, modern façade. The corrugated metal roof covering was chosen for durability and long-term weather protection.
result
The project delivered a spacious, low-energy home built to the highest standards of airtightness and insulation. With a total build envelope designed for comfort and efficiency, the client received a house that is robust, stylish, and future-proof — completed on time and ready for internal finishing.
