Prana Domestic Ventilation Heat Recovery System

Ever notice how stuffy your home can feel with the windows closed? Or seen condensation trickling down the glass on a cold morning? And then there are those energy bills that just seem to climb higher every year. If you’re looking for a healthier and more efficient way to enjoy your modern home, Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) is the answer. At Future Gaff, we’re proud to offer PRANA HRV systems – a smart solution designed to keep your indoor air fresh, clean, and comfortable, while reducing unnecessary energy waste. Here’s how this innovative technology can help make your home truly “future-proof.”

How Does Domestic Heat Recovery Ventilation Work?

So, how does it all work behind the scenes? The concept is straightforward, yet the benefits are remarkable. PRANA systems continuously refresh your indoor air, ensuring a healthier and more comfortable environment without the need to open a single window. You enjoy a steady flow of clean, oxygen-rich air while stale air is efficiently removed, keeping your living space balanced and pleasant all year round.

The secret lies in the unique copper heat exchanger at the core of every PRANA unit. This clever technology transfers heat from the outgoing air to the incoming supply air without mixing the two streams. As a result, you get maximum energy efficiency, reduced heat loss, and fresh, filtered air that feels just right in every season.

How the Prana Heat Recovery System Works

  • No mixing, just transfer. Stale air passes through one set of channels in the copper heat exchanger, while fresh air flows through another—so the two streams never actually meet.
  • Energy swap. As warm, stale air exits, its heat is transferred to the incoming fresh air. In summer, the process reverses, helping to cool the incoming air. Copper’s natural properties also support the cleanliness and purity of the air.
  • Filtered freshness. Before outdoor air enters your home, it passes through a filter. Depending on whether a G2, G3, or G4 filter is installed, different levels of dust, pollen, and fine particles are captured.
  • This constant, quiet cycle ensures you’re always breathing clean, pre-conditioned air—without any effort on your part.

Domestic Heat Recovery Ventilation System: Main Features

  • Breathe healthier, live better
Investing in a PRANA system with Future Gaff isn’t just about buying a device—it’s about transforming your lifestyle. Say goodbye to common indoor irritants such as dust, pollen, VOCs, and excess CO₂. If anyone in your household suffers from allergies or asthma, they’ll notice a real difference with cleaner, fresher air.
  • No more moisture & mould
Tired of foggy windows or damp patches? PRANA removes excess humidity from your home, preventing condensation and drastically reducing the risk of mould—protecting both your health and your home’s structure.
  • Cut your energy costs
This is where the “recovery” really pays off. By preventing valuable heat from escaping with the outgoing air and reducing indoor moisture, your living space feels warmer and more comfortable, meaning you won’t need to run the heating as much. The result? Noticeable savings on your energy bills year after year.
  • Peace and quiet all year round
All of this happens quietly in the background, with no need to open windows and let in noise or bad weather—giving you a calmer, more peaceful home in every season.

Choose Prana Domestic Heat Recovery System

Every room in your home needs proper ventilation, but the most important one is the bedroom. With a steady supply of fresh, oxygen-rich air, you’ll sleep more deeply, wake up feeling more rested, and enjoy greater energy and productivity throughout the day. It’s hard to put into words—but once you experience the difference PRANA makes, you’ll realise just how much you’ve been missing fresh, clean air at night.

They also perform brilliantly in bathrooms, provided certain conditions are met. PRANA quickly clears steam after a shower, de-fogs mirrors, and—most importantly—prevents mould by keeping moisture under control. Unlike traditional extractor fans, they do this quietly and efficiently, ensuring a healthier, more comfortable environment.

Enjoy fresh, clean, and warm air every day—and save up to 20% on your heating bills!

PRANA Heat Recovery Unit — MVHR in Practice

Construction is the process of building structures, infrastructure, and facilities, ranging from homes and offices to roads and bridges. It involves planning, designing, and executing projects using materials like concrete, steel, and wood.

How much electricity does a PRANA unit use?
A PRANA domestic system uses between 4–91 watts, depending on the fan speed setting. On the lowest speed, it consumes less power than a typical LED bulb. Even at maximum speed, it uses roughly the same electricity as a standard laptop computer, making it very economical to run 24/7.
Also, the recuperator flange on the front cover has a different thickness at the top and bottom. Installation of the system at an angle allows you to take this into account. If there is an inclination of 2-3°, the flange of the recuperator tightly adheres to the inner wall. You get an effective and aesthetic ventilation system.
How noisy is the PRANA system?
PRANA units are designed to be whisper-quiet. At low speeds, they're virtually silent — typically under 25 decibels, which is quieter than a library. Even at higher speeds, they're much quieter than opening a window, especially if you live near a busy road. Most users forget they're even running.
How often do I need to clean or maintain it?
Basic maintenance is simple — just vacuum the filters every 2–3 months and wipe down the unit occasionally. The filters are washable and designed to last years with proper care. The copper heat exchanger is self-cleaning and doesn't require regular maintenance. An annual check by a technician is recommended to keep it running at peak efficiency.
Does it work in very cold weather?
Yes, PRANA systems are built for harsh climates and work efficiently down to -30°C. The unit has a winter mode and built-in frost protection to prevent freezing. In freezing conditions, a small heating element automatically activates to keep the system running smoothly without any intervention from you.
