Prana heat recovery ventilation installation

HRV System Installation

PRANA HRV System, designed as sleek and efficient solutions, are available in both domestic and semi-industrial variants. These user-friendly models boast a hassle-free installation process that can be completed within 2 hours, ensuring your space isn’t disrupted. The HRV System installation involves a straightforward four-step procedure:

  1. Identifying the optimal area for installation.
  2. Precisely drilling the required hole for setup.
  3. Securing the recuperator in place.
  4. Connecting the unit to the power supply.

This streamlined process and the compact nature of PRANA heat recovery ventilation make them an ideal choice for those seeking a quick and efficient air management solution.

Selecting the Ideal HRV System Installation Location

To ensure your device operates effectively, it’s crucial to install PRANA HRV domestic models on a wall facing outdoors, enabling seamless air intake and exhaust. Ensure that the wall allows for drilling. Position the recuperator high up, maintaining a 100-150 mm distance from the ceiling and any nearby obstacles.

The location of your indoor air conditioning unit also plays a pivotal role in determining the best mounting spot. For optimal performance of both systems, install the recuperator on a different wall, or alternatively, position it above or at least 300 mm to the side of the air conditioner.

Mounting hole drilling and HRV System installation

When installing a Prana heat recovery ventilation, it’s crucial to drill a precise mounting hole in the exterior wall. This hole should be angled at 2-3 degrees toward the street. This slight incline is essential for the efficient drainage of any condensate that might form during the recuperation process.

For this task, use a diamond drill to ensure accuracy and smoothness. The size of the hole depends on the specific model of the recuperator you’re installing:

Adhering to these specifications ensures optimal performance and longevity of your recuperator.

When placing your order, we ensure to confirm the thickness of the wall where you plan to install the system. Our working module is custom-crafted to the precise length required for your space.

The installation process of the ventilation involves securing it within the mounting hole using high-quality sealant or adhesive foam. This ensures a seamless and durable fit. The operational module is discreetly concealed within the wall’s thickness, with only the ventilation grilles visible — one located inside the room and the other on the building’s facade, ensuring efficient and unobtrusive air circulation.

Connecting Your PRANA Recuperator to the Electric Grid

Seamlessly integrate your PRANA HRV System into your home’s electrical system with a standard 220V 50Hz connection. Select from two convenient installation methods: plug-in or direct wiring. If you opt for a plug-in setup, ensure you have an accessible outlet near the recuperator. For a direct connection, the power supply cable must be brought to the location of the ventilation installation.

IMPORTANT! For the plug-in connection, we will run the wire with a 13-amp plug in the self-adhesive square conduit to the nearest power socket. Please note that a certified electrician must complete direct connections to the power network. Our installers are not equipped to provide this service. Before initiating any work, it’s crucial to disconnect the power supply to ensure a safe installation environment.

Questions & Answers

Why is the recuperator mounted at an angle of 2-3 degrees?

This is done for functional and aesthetic reasons. Installation of the working module at an angle is required to remove condensate that may appear during system operation. At an inclination of 2-3° to the side of the street, it appears naturally.
Also, the recuperator flange on the front cover has a different thickness at the top and bottom. Installation of the system at an angle allows you to take this into account. If there is an inclination of 2-3°, the flange of the recuperator tightly adheres to the inner wall. You get an effective and aesthetic ventilation system.

The type of building, whether multi-story apartments or detached houses, does not affect the possibilities or quality of installing a ventilation system. Drilling the mounting hole and positioning the working module in the wall can be accomplished from inside the room. However, it’s recommended to use a windproof cap when installing the recuperator on the 4th floor or higher.

Yes, the unit price includes “STANDARD” installation within a 25-kilometre radius. Outside of this 25 km radius from Bailieborough, a “travel surcharge” will be applied.

The “standard” installation, which is included in the ventilation price, consists of diamond core drilling through a brick or concrete block wall up to 45 cm in thickness and mounting the ventilation module into the wall with a “plug-in” power connection.

Additional charges will apply if the installation must be completed in a wall thicker than 45 cm, if the drilling is through a stone wall, or if a “direct” power connection is required.

The travel surcharge is €0.70 per kilometre. It will be applied for travel beyond 25 kilometres from Bailieborough.

We recommend installing the Prana ventilation system in the rooms where you spend the most time, such as living rooms and bedrooms. Ventilation can also be installed in rooms like the kitchen or bathroom, but a different approach must be taken because these premises require only exhaust.

No, Prana domestic range ventilation systems can also be installed in: offices, gyms, schools, shops, beauty salons, GP offices, and more.
